Senior Iranian cleric says that the IAEA's latest report on Iran's peaceful nuclear program has humiliated the UN Security Council.
“ElBaradei revealed a 'truth' in his report, which the enemies were reluctant to accept,” Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati told a crowd of worshippers.
Mohamed ElBaradei's report confirmed that Iran's nuclear program is geared for peaceful purposes and that it does not pursue military objectives.
Ayatollah Jannati praised the Iranian nation's determination to acquire the peaceful use of nuclear technology.
Turning to the issue of the so-called Mideast peace conference in Annapolis, Maryland he said, "Like other similar meetings, these talks are bound to fail.”
“They are trying to gain popularity in the name of peace while the world can detect their lies and knows they are only seeking to serve the interests of the Zionist regime,” Ayatollah Jannati continued.
“Such efforts will be fruitful only after the Palestinians return to their homes and fully participate in the talks,” he concluded.
