Bulgaria eyes energy deal with Iran

The Bulgarian deputy foreign minister says Sofia is eager to further develop bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, on Saturday, Feim Chaushev said the recent growth in economic trade between Iran and Bulgaria signals a bright future for the two countries.
Chaushev emphasized that Iran and Bulgaria enjoy a close and friendly relationship, with room to still further expand bilateral ties.
He added that Bulgaria is hopeful to form a gas committee with Iran, after both countries reached a mutual understanding in the field of energy.
Mottaki echoed the Bulgarian sentiment by stating that Tehran seeks to establish a joint economic committee with Sofia, in a bid to develop relations with the country.
