Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati describes President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to the UN General Assembly as a bold move.

“Ahmadinejad impeached the US administration in their own home,” Tehran's interim Friday prayers leader said.

“The president questioned US approaches towards family and women's rights, and cautioned Washington against violating such rights,” Jannati added.

“The President asked them why there was so much poverty in their country. Why there were so many broken homes and why no steps had been taken to help the poor?”

Turning to the outrageous behavior of the president of Columbia University, Jannati said Bollinger had invited Iran's President, the official representative of 70-million people, to his university and insulted him.

“When a country's academicians behave in such a manner, what more can we expect from their politicians and soldiers?" he asked.
