Iran test flies 'Saeqeh' fighter

Iranian fighter jet 'Saeqe'
Defense Ministry successfully test flies locally-manufactured 'Saeqeh' fighter jet in what is seen as the growing Iranian military power.

Saeqeh is a new generation of 'Azarakhsh' class which had already been tested successfully.

The modern fighter has been developed by the Air Force and Aeronautics Industry.

Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, Army Commander Ataollah Salehi, Air Force Commander Ahmad Miqani, and a number of other commanders were present in the flight ceremony at Mehrabad airport.

The Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Chairman Alaeddin Boroujerdi and Reza Talaei-Nik, a commission member, were also present.

The fighter jets were flown by Iranian Air Force pilots.

The fighter jets are planned to join the Air Force squadron officially on the military march on Sep. 22, the first day of the holy defense week.
