The political advisor to the Italian Prime Minister has condemned any brinkmanship in Iran, while hailing the recent Iran-IAEA cooperation.

The Italian delegation entered Tehran on Wednesday, upon an invitation from the President's senior advisor, Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi.

The Italian officials discussed topics of mutual interest and regional issues with the Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe and American Affairs, Saeed Jalili.

Jalili noted the strong relations between Iran and Italy emphasizing Tehran's eagerness to expand multilateral ties.

He pointed to Italy's realistic stance on Middle Eastern issues, stressing the need for further deliberation between the two countries.

The Italian delegation described Iran as an effective regional power and acknowledged its efforts to bring stability to Afghanistan, Lebanon, and Palestine.
