US troops in Iraq have arrested the members of an Iranian delegation in Baghdad, the Iranians were to sign an agreement with Iraq's Electricity Ministry.

The officials from Iran's Energy Ministry were arrested in Baghdad's Sheraton Hotel on Tuesday, according to the IRNA.

The US forces had raided the third floor of the hotel where the Iranian delegation stayed, according to the report from Baghdad.

Iraq's Ministry of Energy had invited the Iranian delegation to Baghdad to sign a bilateral agreement on electricity distribution.

The Iranian officials have been moved to an unknown place in four vehicles by the US forces, eyewitnesses say.
