Persepolis another scenario against Iran

An advisor to the Iranian president for cinematic affairs believes that the movie 'Persepolis' has targeted the Iranian-Islamic culture.
It was the continuation of a trend reflected in movies like "300" and certainly will not be the last one, Mehdi Kalhor told Fars news agency on Monday.
The movie was awarded the Jury Prize at the 60th Cannes International Film Festival while a letter of protest was sent to the French Embassy in Tehran by Iran's Farabi Foundation, a government-affiliated body in charge of festivals in Iran.
Written by Marjane Satrapi and directed by French director Vincent Paronnaud, the film presents a distorted image of the country in the wake of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
"This year, the Cannes Film Festival, in an unconventional and unsuitable act, has chosen a movie about Iran that has presented an unrealistic picture of the achievements and results of the glorious Islamic Revolution in some of its parts," reads part of the letter.
Earlier this year, the American movie "300" enraged Iranians who said the Greeks-vs-Persians action flick insults their ancient culture and provokes animosity against Iran. The film was seen as an attack on Persian history, a source of pride for Iranians all over the world.
