Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Senegalese counterpart Abdoulaye Wade have discussed the ways to develop bilateral ties.
The two sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments in a private meeting.
After the meeting, Wade said the two sides had discussed in detail plans for future cooperation.
He also voiced support for Iran's peaceful nuclear program, saying countries against it have never been able to find any diversion in Iran's nuclear activities.
"I have already said that Senegal is against the proliferation of nuclear weapons... but in the case of Iran I note that the Iranian president... tells me that his country is simply developing uranium for peaceful means," Wade said.
"You know in law... he who accuses has the burden of proof. In the case of Iran nothing has been found up to now," he said.
Wade also voiced support for the Palestinian cause, saying it was their legal right to resist.
Ahmadinejad, for his part, said that Iran plans to develop its car manufacturing plant and to set up a tractor production factory in Senegal in the near future.
Iran's giant automobile manufacturer, Iran Khodro Company, built the first phase of its factory in Senegal last year to export its cars to a number of West African countries.
"With completion of the factory in Senegal, this country can export its cars to other regional countries," Ahmadinejad said.
Tehran and Dakar are expected to sign a number of agreements before the Iranian president ends his visit.
Senegal was the last leg of President Ahmadinejad's tour of Africa and Latin American countries.
