Kiarostami film on TIFF list of decade's best

Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami's Wind Will Carry Us has been listed as one of the best films of the 2000s by TIFF Cinematheque.

More than 60 film curators, historians, and festival programmers around the world ranked Kiarostami's 1999 production as number 21 of the 50 best films of the 2000s.

The Wind Will Carry Us shared its ranking with the Taiwan/Japan produced film Yi Yi (A One and a Two) directed by Edward Yang.

The Thai art-house movie Syndromes and a Century by Apichatpong Weerasethakul topped the list as the decade's most respected film.

The list, which was released by the year-round screening program of the Toronto International Film Festival, TIFF Cinematheque, includes such great names as David Lynch, Michael Haneke and David Cronenberg.
