World-renowned Iranian Tar player Keyvan Saket is planning to hold a traditional Persian music concert in two US cities.

The concert, due for Dec. 3 and 13, 2009, will present solo Setar pieces and improvised performances on Tar, Mehr News Agency reported.

Saket will perform in the cities of Washington and Virginia, followed by workshops on Persian music and modern Tar and Setar playing techniques.

Composer, researcher and Tar and Setar maestro, Keyvan Saket has worked with many great figures of Iranian music such as Hamid Motebassem and the late Parviz Meshkatian.

He has also held numerous national and international concerts.
