Iraqi state television has aired the confessions of three men who are believed to have orchestrated a set of massive bombings in Baghdad.

The men, all Baath party members, said they plotted the bombings at the justice ministry and the capital's local government headquarters on October 25, AFP reported.

Major General Qassim Atta, a spokesman for the Iraqi army's Baghdad division, said the men have already confessed before a judge.

Two of the men who had been officers in Saddam's army said a Saudi national assisted them as they drove three cars filled with explosives from Taji, 25 kilometers (15 miles) north of Baghdad.

The explosives were later transferred to the truck and the minibus that were used in the attacks, according to the broadcast.

The bombings left over 150 people dead and hundreds of others wounded.
