The new death toll comes amid rising fears of an imminent A-H1N1 flu epidemic in Iran.
Iran's swine flu fatalities have reached triple digits as 42 new confirmed deaths reported this week bring the toll of the fatal disease to 100.

Iran's Health Ministry reported on Wednesday that 42 more Iranians died this week from the swine flu, adding that 466 new confirmed A-H1N1 cases brought the total identified cases in the country to 3128.

The Parliamentary Education Commission said 17 students from across Iran were among those who died of swine flu, raising fears of an imminent A-H1N1 flu epidemic.

The rising figure comes despite the recent announcement by Tehran education officials that the swine flu virus in the Iranian capital was under control.

The Majlis Education Commission said the low amount of budget allocated has made it hard to contain the virus in other Iranian cities.

Iranian health officials have warned that people with respiratory conditions and heart disease are more at risk of swine flu infection.

According to the country's officials, adopting simple precautionary measures such as washing hands frequently, using a tissue at the time of coughing and sneezing and avoiding kisses can contain the virus.
