Tehran poster biennial announces winners

The 10th edition of the Tehran International Poster Biennial has announced its winners during a ceremony in the capital city of Tehran.

The first and second awards went to China's Yang Jie and Liu Zheng respectively and Hiroyuki Matsuishi from Japan won the award of the month-long biennial.

The event's first award of the main category went to Gaku Osuki from Japan while Poland's Leszek Zebrowski and Iran's Mohammad Jamshidi received the second and third awards respectively.

Organized by the Center for Visual Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the Institute for the Development of Visual Arts, Tehran's 2009 International Poster Biennial was held on the theme of 'Contemporary Man and the Environment'.

A collection of works by late international artists, Shigo Fukada (Japan), Allen Fletcher (the UK) and Morteza Momayyez (Iran) were also displayed on the sidelines of the biennial.
