Iran's parliament is to debate the qualifications of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's three remaining cabinet members rejected in an early September vote.

The Iranian Majlis rejected the president's proposed education, welfare and energy ministers, leaving the mentioned ministries to caretakers for more than two months.

"Lawmakers are to discuss the credentials of the proposed ministers, they will then put them to vote next Sunday," Mohammad-Hassan Abu-Torabifard, a lawmaker form the city of Qazvin said on Saturday.

Current lawmaker, Hamid-Reza Haji-Babaei has been nominated for the education ministry while Majid Namjou has been nominated as the president's leading choice for the energy ministry.

Sadegh Mahsouli, Iran's interior minister in President Ahmadinejad's first administration is nominated as the country's welfare minster.

To take office, the potential ministers will have to gain the Parliament's vote of confidence by winning the approval of the majority of the representatives.

President Ahmadinejad submitted his final list of 21 candidates for his cabinet on August 19. After five days of often heated debate, the Majlis approved 18 out of 21 of President Ahmadinejad's Cabinet picks.
