Following reports of a blaze in one of the Iranian capital's subway stations, a senior official with Tehran's metro company rejects the claim, saying that no disruption was caused in train services.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iranian media reported a fire at the Haft-e-Tir metro station in central Tehran at 13:41 pm.

Firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene of the incident to douse the flames.

However, according to Jafar Rabi'ei, the top official at the Tehran metro company, there was no fire at the station and that only smoke was rising from the resistant roof surface of one of the trains.

Upon their arrival at the spot, firefighters resolved the issue with a fire extinguisher, Rabi'ei told Iran's Labor News Agency (ILNA).

Meanwhile, head of Tehran's Firefighting Organization told ISNA that the incident did not disrupt the subway services and no injuries were reported among passengers.
