Iranian security forces have arrested six Pakistani nationals after they illegally entered Iran's territorial waters, an unnamed source told Iran's Al Alam news agency.

The unnamed source, however, did not mention where and when the six were arrested.

According to Pakistani media outlets, the six were officials from the Fisheries Department in the Jiwani coastal area.

The detainees had reportedly been on a routine patrol mission in the area when they were arrested.

Jiwani is a commercial port located along the Sea of Oman near Pakistan's Baluchistan province. The port is located near the Pakistani border with Iran.
