Bulgaria gripped by 'Russian road roulette'

Bulgarian streets are witnessing new death squads jumping red lights and making dangerous swerves for bets of up to 7,400 dollars.
In the new gambling game, known as 'Russian road roulette', drivers speed through red lights trying not to crash into any other cars or pedestrians.
Prosecutors have launched their investigation on the issue, which has even involved onlookers as gamblers, Reuters reported.
Local media reported two deaths after a motorcyclist crashed into an onlooker during a 'Russian road roulette' episode on Sofia's ring in June.
"Every time we receive a signal for such an unregulated race, we send patrols," head of the Sofia Road Police Commissioner Vanio Stoevski told Reuters.
Participants in the rally inform each other via text messages of the venue depending on the presence of police.
