Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is on a two-day visit to Iran to hold talks with Iranian officials on the realms of mutual interest issues.

Davutoglu arrived in the capital Tehran on Saturday. He is visiting the country upon a formal invitation by his Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.

During his short stay in Iran, Davutoglu is scheduled to meet with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani, Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili and his counterpart.

Matters of mutual interest including regional and international issues will be top on the agenda of the minister.

Iran and Turkey cooperate in a wide range of fields including economic and trade projects.

They are both members of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), a 10-body regional organization which was established in 1985 to promote economic, technical and cultural cooperation among the member states.
