Iran to offer new nuclear package to West

Iran has prepared an updated nuclear package and is ready to hold talks with the world powers on its nuclear program, Press TV has learned.
The package will be offered to the veto-wielding members of the United Nations Security Council -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States plus Germany (P5+1).
The six world powers will meet in the German city of Frankfurt on Wednesday to discuss Iran's nuclear issue.
Confirming the report, Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili told reporters on Tuesday that the Tehran government has updated its proposed nuclear package in view of last year's global developments, including the economic downturn and the Georgian crisis.
Jalili, who is also the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, added that the Islamic Republic is ready to cooperate with Western countries to 'remove common concerns [about its nuclear program] in international arena'.
The powers have demanded a halt to Iran's uranium enrichment program, which they believe is aimed at building a nuclear bomb.
Tehran, however, has denied seeking nuclear weapons and has called for the removal of all weapons of mass destruction across the globe.
US President Barack Obama had earlier declared that Western powers would give Iran until September to resume talks on its much-debated nuclear program.
Earlier on Friday, the UN nuclear watchdog issued a new report confirming that Iran is improving its cooperation with the agency and that the agency had been able to continue "to verify the non-diversion of declared nuclear material" in the country.
While Iran is already under three rounds of UN Security Council sanctions resolutions for its enrichment work, the P5+1 is mulling over tougher sanctions against the country.
