West occupies Muslim countries under pretext of fight against terror: Ansarullah leader

The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, delivers a televised speech broadcast live from Sana’a, Yemen, on May 11, 2024.

The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement has roundly denounced the plots hatched by some Western states, including the United States and Britain, to harm the Muslim world, saying that they have occupied Muslim countries under the false pretext of war on terror.

Delivering a televised speech broadcast from the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Saturday afternoon, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said US onslaughts were the most vicious of their kind following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

He pointed to the Western conspiracy under the pretext of a fight against terror, emphasizing that the West is drawing on such an excuse to occupy Muslim countries, subjugate nations and plunder their natural assets.

“By means of such a conspiracy, the West has targeted Muslims and their religious identities,” Houthi said, noting that enemies are acting under a well-engineered plot to target the Muslim Ummah at different stages.

“Following 9/11 attacks, Americans put together an international coalition, led a massive campaign of intimidation, and launched a massive media campaign against the Muslim world.

“It is a pity that some Arab and Muslim media outlets aligned themselves at the time with US narratives, which were meant to intimidate the Muslim Ummah through psychological warfare and prepare the way for the complete control of America over our lands,” the Ansarullah chief said.

Houthi regretted that most Arab rulers vie with each other to appease US statesmen, arguing they have prepared the ground for Washington to do whatever it wants and advance its plans smoothly.

“Some people among us try to portray our enemies as friends, so we can join them. Some regimes and governments also want America to support them. They offer anything they could in order to attract the United States’ support," the Ansarullah leader said.

"The dread of losing Washington haunts some [Arab] rulers and officials, and they have created the fear within their own nations. In some Arab countries, a demonstration staged in solidarity with Palestinians is suppressed without any hesitation,” he added.

He went on to note that enemies’ conspiracies against Muslim nations are fairly clear, stating that US atrocities in Gaza show that Washington does not support any party and all attempts to conclude treaties of amity with it are doomed to failure and simply pave the way for total submission.

“America does not support anyone. It plunders their wealth instead and tries to alienate their youths. The United States will easily dominate the countries that have prepared the ground for looting their own assets,” Houthi said.

The leader of the Ansarullah movement emphasized that international developments indicate the defeat and decline of the United States and the emergence of other international powers.

“Muslims should realize that their worst enemy is Israel. The Muslim Ummah will realize the importance of correct actions, positions and plans in case it turns to the path of struggle against its sworn enemy.”

The Ansarullah leader then called on Muslim countries to take practical actions and stand up against the US and Israeli hostilities.

He also slammed Washington for its continued arms sales to Tel Aviv.

Houthi said many Muslim countries’ leaders only care about their power and are even willing to sacrifice their people to appease the US.

The Ansarullah chief slammed certain Arab countries for normalizing ties with Tel Aviv.

He said rulers in the Arab world are afraid of standing up against atrocities being committed by Israel in Gaza.
