'Israel in decline'

The leader of Hamas resistance movement says Israel has failed to crush Palestinians’ resistance through its assassination campaigns. Ismail Haniyeh made the remarks in an exclusive interview with Press TV. He said Palestinian people have proven that Israeli crimes will only strengthen their resolve. Haniyeh added that Palestinians are united in their battle against Israel and will continue fighting the regime until its annihilation. He said Palestinian youths have been at the forefront of resistance against Israel’s acts of aggression.

Israeli terrorism in Golan

Damascus has come down hard on Israel for brutally attacking Syrian citizens at a village in the occupied Golan Heights. The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the raid as barbaric. It added that the attack was aimed at terrorizing Syrian people in the occupied territory. The ministry said Israeli forces’ assault shows terrorism is part and parcel of the occupying regime.

'Cluster munitions for Ukraine'

Despite a global ban on the use of cluster munitions, the US military believes they would help Ukraine push back against Russian forces. The remark was made by a senior official at the US Defense Department. Laura Cooper, who is the deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, was addressing the US lawmakers during a Congressional hearing. She said the reason why such munitions have not been approved for Kiev yet is congressional restrictions and concerns from US allies. Cooper, however, added that from a battlefield effectiveness perspective, the Pentagon believes they are useful. The cluster munitions release large numbers of smaller bomblets that can kill civilians indiscriminately over a wide area. An agreement signed in 2008 by 123 countries, including most of NATO's 28 members, prohibits production, use and stockpiling of such munitions. The United States, Russia and Ukraine have not adopted the agreement.
