Hosting Iran wins Intl Snipers Contest in Yazd city

The enemy is 600 meters away and these Russian snipers are zeroing in their rifles to take down the target. This is part of the International Snipers Competition, which has been challenging top-grade shooters from 7 countries, including Russia, China and Azerbaijan, in the Iranian city of Yazd.

After 10 days of a breathtaking competition, the hosting Iranian teams made it to the top of the podium. The Chinese team claimed the second place and the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan jointly rounded off the podium in the third place.

Organized by the Ground Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the 10-day competition was held in 20 different categories, which engaged the snipers in arduous team and individual competitions to test their promptitude and shooting accuracy in various war conditions.

The event came as part of Russia's International Army Games 2022, which hosted over 270 teams from 37 countries and regions.

From taking down moving objects to shooting at distant targets, the International Snipers Competition offered a real challenge for some of the select shooters from different countries. So the organizers say those who made it to the top are among the deadliest snipers in the world.
