The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned Israel for repeatedly provoking Palestinian Muslim worshippers’ feelings and desecrating the sanctity of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in al-Quds, saying the Tel Aviv regime is pushing the region toward a new war.

The ministry said in a statement on Monday that the Tel Aviv regime is playing with fire though constant acts of aggression against all sacred places in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The statement added that Israeli officials give extremist Jewish settler groups a free hand to assault religious sanctities and Palestinian property, arguing that the attacks are usually carried out under the protection of Israeli military forces.

It also warned the regime against adverse consequences of its deliberate escalation in the occupied territories as it could spark off a fresh round of confrontation with Palestinian resistance groups.

The Yemeni foreign ministry highlighted that the latest provocative measures along with recent irresponsible comments of Israeli authorities regarding al-Quds could result in catastrophic repercussions, for which the Israeli regime bears full responsibility.

It anticipated a strong military and political reaction from various Palestinian resistance factions in the face of excessive use of force by Israeli troops against defenseless Palestinians, lamenting the international community’s inaction towards the practice.

While the world is stubbornly silent on ongoing Israeli acts of aggression, it cries wolf and calls for self-restraint once Palestinian fighters launch retaliatory missile strikes against occupied lands, the Yemeni foreign ministry pointed out.

The ministry called on all Arab and Islamic countries as well as the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) member states to stand up firmly against the arrogant Zionist regime, which has infringed upon all humanitarian and international principles by using excessive force against ordinary Palestinians.

The statement finally underlined that all Israeli attempts to advance its racist agenda are doomed to failure, and that the Tel Aviv regime will encounter fierce and spirited resistance from Palestinians.

On Sunday, thousands of far-right Israeli settlers stormed Damascus Gate in occupied East al-Quds to mark the so-called flag march in the Old City.

Extremist Jewish groups chanted racist slogans such as “Death to Arabs,” as they marched through the streets of the old city.

Israeli forces dispersed Palestinian protesters after a splinter group of Jewish extremists started waving flags inside al-Aqsa Mosque.

Medics said dozens of Palestinians were injured in the occupied West Bank amid confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers.
