Israeli rights group B’Tselem said clashes broke out when Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian homes overnight in the village of Jaloud. The NGO said Israeli soldiers arrested 11 Palestinian villagers and wounded four others by firing rubber bullets. Separately, clashes broke out in the village of Beita in the northern West Bank. EU-Russia showdown

The European Union says it summons Russia's ambassador to Brussels to convey its strong condemnation and rejection of Moscow’s retaliatory sanctions on European officials. EU Spokesman Peter Stano said the counter-sanctions are politically motivated and lack any legal justification. On Friday, Russia announced an entry ban on 8 European officials, including the head of the European parliament. Moscow described the move as a response to sanctions imposed by the EU on Russian citizens. Moscow and Brussels are at loggerheads over a host of issues. Tensions have recently hiked over the alleged poising and jailing of Russian opposition figure, Alexei Navalny. Brussels and Washington have imposed several rounds of sanctions on Russia over Navalny's case.
