The Houston Rockets have edged past the Eastern Conference leader the Milwaukee Bucks 120 to 116 to extend their winning streak to three matches.

The Rockets had the upper hand in the first two quarters and took a 62 to 54 advantage at the end of the first half.

However, the Bucks came from behind and managed to lead by a single point at the end of the third quarter, but it was short-lived and Houston turned the game around by beating their opponents 31 to 26 in the final quarter.

Nearly half of the Rockets' points were gained by Russell Westbrook and James Harden as they pocketed 31 and 24 respectively, while Giannis Antetokounmpo tallied 36 points for the Bucks.

In addition, the Denver Nuggets returned to winning ways after beating the Oklahoma City Thunder 121 to 113 to boost their hopes for the final playoff Spot in the Western Conference.

The OKC were the better side of the match as they went to their locker room with a 81 to 78 advantage.

But the Nuggets stormed back and won the final quarter with a three-point margin and sent the match into overtime.

Denver then dominated the game from there onward and beat Oklahoma 12-4.
