Central Michigan severely flooded after two dams collapse

Severe flooding in central Michigan forced thousands of people to leave their homes after two dams broke following record rainfall.

Midland's Courthouse was surrounded by flood waters which covered central streets of the city on Wednesday. A nearby highway was closed.

The state's governor Gretchen Whitmer declared a State of Emergency for Midland County late on Tuesday following the breach of the Edenville and Sanford dams.
