France's top two leagues will not resume this season

The French 2019-20 professional sports competitions including football season will not be allowed to resume before September after French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said the sporting season was over.

Based on the French government's new decision the Ligues 1 and 2 seasons will not resume and there has been no official announcement from the French Professional Football League so far about whether league leaders, Paris Saint Germain will be awarded the title, and how European qualification and relegation will be decided.

PSG are 12 points clear of Marseille at the top of Ligue 1, with 10 rounds of matches and one outstanding fixture left to play.

Meanwhile in Ligue 2, the top 5 sides are separated by only 4 points, and are all targeting promotion to the top flight. Football was suspended indefinitely in France on the 13th of March.
