Hillary Clinton ‘is likely to be a major player in the demise of the Democratic Party’: Analyst

American political analyst and activist Myles Hoenig has said that former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton “is likely to be a major player in the demise of the Democratic Party.”

Clinton on Monday condemned President Donald Trump as a "danger to democracy" and defended her scornful comments about Democratic primary frontrunner Bernie Sanders.

The 2016 Democratic presidential candidate claimed that Russia would try to influence the presidential election in 2020.

"I will support the nominee of our party because I think that our current president is a clear and present danger to democracy and to our future," she told journalists at the Berlin film festival, where a new documentary about her life was being screened.

Hoenig said, “Without seeing the documentary about the life of Hillary Clinton, I’m wondering if it’s really a horror movie. At least her presence on the world stage continues to haunt us to no end.”

“If the documentary is anything like her degrees of honesty then the movie ought to be more of a fictionalized account of her life. For instance, she claims that she will support the nominee, whoever it appears to be. We know from her history that if it were to be Sanders, she would do everything possible to deny him a spot on the ticket and who knows how she would deal with him if he is the nominee. In 2016 in collusion with Wasserman-Schultz and the DNC she was able to stop the advancement of Sanders in the primaries through legal but unethical actions,” he added.

“Clinton expresses fears of misinformation coming from Russia but is trying to hide that she’s a part of the misinformation campaign directed at Russia. The latest scare is that Russia is once again supporting Trump, and now they’re supporting Sanders, something she would later try to use to derail his campaign, in spite of the fact that she pledges to support whoever is the nominee. There is no evidence of any of this Russian interference, but she, and nearly all Democrats, are unhinged over this and know that it’s an effective scare tactic,” he noted.

“Sanders is Clinton’s nemesis, not just because he ran against her but because his views are near opposite hers. As he’s a Democratic Socialist who advocates for unity, the working people, and against the 1%, Clinton fights only for those who see themselves as moderate or conservative Democrats and for the special interests that bankroll her pockets and those of her Party,” pointed out Hoenig, a former US congressional candidate.

“As true as it is that Trump is divisive, so is Clinton. As for how it stands now, the majority of those Democrats who have already voted and projected to are going with Sanders. Her attacks on Sanders is an attack on his supporters and her attack on Trump is an attack on an additional 40% or so. She’s engaging in a two front war, against Sanders and Trump, and is likely to be a major player in the demise of the Democratic Party,” he concluded.
