Israeli flags burnt as Syrians rally to condemn US assassination of Iran's Soleimani
Thousands of people gathered in Aleppo's Saadallah al-Jabiri Square on Tuesday to condemn Iranian the assassination by the US of senior Iranian commander Lieutenant General Soleimani at Baghdad airport on Friday.
People were seen burning Israeli flags as well as carrying around a symbolic coffin for General Soleimani as well as chanting.
Soleimani's assassination has sparked international condemnation with rallies and protests taking place around the world.
Soleimani and the second-in-command of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Mohammed Ali Ebrahimi, also known as Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, were assassinated in a US drone strike near Baghdad's airport on Friday.
