US Hong Kong interference

In reaction to Washington’s new legislation on Hong Kong, Beijing says it will suspend visits to the city by American warships and impose sanctions on several NGO’s.

Some analysts argue Beijing’s reaction indicates China is wary of upsetting trade negotiations with the US. China has denounced the new human rights legislation as illegal interference into its internal affairs.
