Non-Proliferation Conference is an event for diplomats and specialists, but a lot of attention is riveted to it. Arms control between Russia and the United States, various aspects of the JCPOA, Middle East tensions, failure to develop nuclear disarmament and other related issues have been discussed. Abbas Araghchi represented Iran on a special panel on Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. He called all data on Iran’s nuclear dossier fabricated and that pressure on Iran won't force it to give concessions to the US.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov criticized the United States' "absolutely unacceptable actions" against Iran. According to Lavrov, Iran was the most checked country in the world after the 2015 nuclear pact.

There are more and more hot spots on the world map. Unfortunately, it is happening on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The INF Treaty is terminated, and the fate of START-3 remains unclear. The Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty has not yet come into force in all countries. Russia’s particular concerns are caused by US actions that lead to the destruction of the global security architecture.

The scrap of the INF Treaty has extremely negative consequences. The parties accumulated mutual claims, but instead of deciding, the Americans were just looking for excuses for dismantling the agreement. Russia's proposals were arrogantly rejected.

Meanwhile, China is anxiously watching the actions of the United States as a world hegemon. Fu Cong the Director General of the Department of arms control and disarmament of the Chinese foreign Ministry noted that China does not shy away from the responsibility of its obligations and is ready to reduce its nuclear arsenals to honest levels but Beijing will join it when Moscow and Washington reduce theirs.

In general, all the participants of the conference agreed that dialogue, no matter how difficult it may be, is still necessary. A full-blown crisis must be avoided in every possible way and action must be taken before the world reaches the point of no return.
