Firefighters are battling several emergency fire warnings throughout eastern Australia.

More than 30 fires are burning across Queensland amid scorching weather and strong winds.

There are 14 bushfires at emergency warning level in northern New South Wales.

Hot and gusty conditions are fanning the flames and properties are being threatened in some areas.

New South Wales Rural Fire Service Commissioner, Shane Fitzsimmons, said the fires are moving rapidly this season due to the drought.
