NHL: Edmonton Oilers 2-5 St. Louis Blues

Over the National Hockey League, the visiting St. Louis Blues have topped the Oilers 5-2 at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

The match was tied at 1-all in the opening period, then the 2019 Stanley Cup Champions St. Louis piled on the pressure and changed the results to 3-1 at the end of the middle frame.

In the final period, Zack Kassian cut the deficit to 3-2 for the Oilers. However, Tyler Bozak and Ivan Barbashev scored 2 more goals as the Blues extended their winning streak to 6 matches and maintained their 1st place in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile on Wednesday night, the New York Rangers hammered the Detroit Red Wings 5-1 at Madison Square Garden. After a scoreless draw in the 1st period, they took a 3-1 lead in the middle frame. The hosts kept the momentum in the final frame and scored 2 more goals to seal the home victory.
