Meanwhile on Wednesday night, the New York Rangers hammered the Detroit Red Wings 5-1 at Madison Square Garden. After a scoreless draw in the 1st period, they took a 3-1 lead in the middle frame. The hosts kept the momentum in the final frame and scored 2 more goals to seal the home victory.
