Andy Murray wins 1st ATP title since 2017

Andy Murray has clinched his 1st ATP title since 2017, with a 2 sets to 1 victory over Stan Wawrinka, at the European Open Final in Belgium.

Murray could not overcome the 3-time grand slam champion and lost the opener 6-3.

However, the 2016 Wimbledon Champion had a stunning comeback from a set behind, and managed to win the next two, both at 6-4, to take his 1st title after 2 years and the 46th of his career.

The Rio Olympic medalist, and former world. No1, had undergone surgery in January, and was playing in just his 7th tournament since his return. Meanwhile, the victory will allow Murray to make a giant leap of more than 100 positions in the rankings, and will stay very close to the Top 100.
