NHL: Chicago Blackhawks 3-5 Washington Capitals

Over the National Hockey League in Chicago, the Blackhawks have suffered a 5-3 loss at the hands of the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

Chicago, who fell behind midway through the 1st period, tied in through Drake Caggiula in the middle frame. Washington however retook the lead in less than 2 minutes before Alex Ovechkin made it 3-1. The hosts got back to the game in the 3rd period, tying it for the 2nd time with goals from Dominik Kubalik and Patrick Kane.

The capitals broke the tie again through Tom Wilson and Lars Eller added the 5th with an empty netter. The Capitals' goaltender Braden Holtby made 41 saves on 44 shots to earn the victory.
