Nearly one year has passed since the illegal detention of Iranian scientist Masoud Soleimani in the United States. On October 25, 2018, Iranian professor Masoud Soleimani headed to the US on a research mission. He was invited by the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Minnesota to lead a research program on the treatment of stroke patients. The 49-year-old Iranian professor is a biomedical researcher at Tehran's Tarbiat Modares University. He was traveling to the US with a visa issued upon an invitation by the US research center. But when his plane touched down in Chicago, he was detained by the FBI.
