UK PM scrambling to get Brexit Deal through

The Commons returned Monday with a Queen's speech that marked the start of the parliamentary year by laying out the government’s domestic agenda. The theme of the speech, written by number 10, was of course Brexit and what might follow.
The speech will be debated by MPs throughout the week. Mr Johnson submitted new Brexit proposals to the EU earlier this month. While signaling a ray of hope for an orderly October 31st Brexit, the European Commission and Boris Johnson both said Sunday there was "still a significant amount of work" to be done.
If talks with Brussels succeed Prime Minister Johnson's Brexit deal could be put before EU leaders at a crucial two-day summit in Brussels on the 17th and 18th of October.
If they fail and MPs do not agree to the UK leaving with no-deal, the PM will have to ask the EU for another delay to Brexit on the 19th.
Various sources say the EU has softened its approach in Brexit negotiations but the fate of the Northern Ireland Good Friday agreement is still the spanner in the works.
The EU’s chief negotiator has agreed to part of Johnson’s solution to the customs procedures on the Ireland of Ireland but certainly not all.
