What was the Queen's role in the suspension of Parliament?

John Ross comments on the Queen's role in the Parliament suspension

The Supreme Court will decide whether Boris Johnson has lied to the Queen over his controversial suspension of the UK Parliament in the run-up to the Brexit deadline. We asked John Ross´s opinion on the 92 year old Queen’s role in the shutdown of Parliament.

The UK, once a beacon of political and diplomatic stability, has descended into chaos since it voted to leave the European Union in 2016 and now is going through its most critical days.

Ross, a British academic, journalist and an economic advisor to Ken Livingstone, and who does not believe in the impartiality of the courts comments: “The Queen does not step in small matters, because if she did then for the first time for 300 years the position of the Monarchy itself would become very controversial.”
