Iran religious tourism

The courtyard of the holy shrine of the eighth Shia Muslim Imam, Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (PBUH), in the city of Mashhad, northeastern Iran

This program is about religious tourism in Iran. Islam’s holiest city is Mecca, the Arabian birthplace of the Prophet Mohammad. But it is Iran that hosts some of his descendants in some of the most prominent shrines.

These constitute pilgrimage sites specifically of the Shia sect of Islam. Their beauty however, is for all to appreciate, regardless of sect or religion. Imam Reza the 8th Shia Imam or leader’s resting place may be the most dazzling.
