2019 La Vuelta Espana: Roglic secures overall win

Over cycling news, Primoz Roglic has finally sealed the triumph in the 74th edition of the Spanish Grand Tour, while Fabio Jakobsen claimed the 50km prestigious stage 21 in Madrid.

The Dutchman Jakobsen who had already emerged victorious on stage 4 of this year’s Vuelta a Espana, bounced back in Madrid to outsprint the Irish champion Sam Bennett, for his second stage-victory.

Szymon Sajnok of Poland came in third. At the end of the event, Roglic who showed remarkable consistency throughout the entire race, became the first Slovenian to win a Grand Tour. He finished 2 minutes 16 seconds clear of World Champion Alejandro Valverde, while his compatriot Tadej Pogacar finished third in the General Classification.
