Bolton departs White House
The US President says he has dismissed his national security advisor John Bolton.
Donald Trump says he and others in the government disagreed with many of Boltons suggestions. Trump has described Bolton as a disaster on Washingtons policy towards North Korea and out of line towards Venezuela. The US President has also refused to rule out easing Washington's unilateral sanctions on Iran, a policy that Bolton, a well known anti-Iran hawk is reported to have strongly opposed. Sources familiar with Boltons departure say tensions over talks with the Afghan Taliban militant group had also been a factor in his expulsion.
