2019 FIBA World Cup: Spain 90-78 Poland

Spain have defeated Poland 90 to 78, as La Rokha paved their way to the semi-finals of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Poland employed some defensive tactics to keep the result close, but couldn’t stop Spain from taking a 5-point lead at the intermission. The Spaniards Upped their game after the restart, and rushed to a 12-point lead in the 3rd quarter, before wrapping up the clash with a double-digit victory.

Ricky Rubio was phenomenal for Spain, contributing 19 points and 9 assists for the win. The 28-year old has now taken over Argentina's Pablo Prigioni as the World Cup all-time assists leader, with a total of 115 points. Spain will be up against either Australia or the Czech Republic in the semis.

That’s while earlier, Argentina put on a sublime performance to upset Serbia 97 to 87, as they booked their 1st semi-final ticket in 13 years. The Argentines were the better side of the 1st-half as they headed to the locker room with a 5-point advantage, but they hit a snag in the 3rd quarter, when Serbia took the lead at the start of the 4th.

The Argentinians responded impressively with back to back points, as they went for an 87 to 76 lead with 3 minutes to go, annihilating any chance of a magical comeback for Serbia. Facundo Campazzo had 18 points and 12 assists for the winners, while Bogdan Bogdanovic racked-up 21 points.
