Netanyahu travels to UK to meet Boris Johnson before Israeli elections

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was welcomed with open arms into the office of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday in order to hold discussions on key issues prior to the Israeli elections on the September 17.

But it was a different story on the streets.

As Netanyahu arrived, at just a single-day's notice, he was met by hundreds of demonstrators who aired their dismay over Israel’s violations of Palestinian human rights and protested against British support for Israel’s actions in the Middle East.

In the lead up to the Israeli elections, the far-right wing Netanyahu is set to meet with right-wing Johnson at the height of the Brexit mess, but what does he want? Is it about Jerusalem, al-Quds? Is it about Iran? Or is it just a symbolic visit good enough to help his election campaign?
