Rafael Nadal has sealed a spot in the quarterfinals of the US Open, after beating Marin Cilic of Croatia three sets to one.
The world number two started on the front foot, and took the opening set 6-3, but, Cilic fought back and won the second, with the same 6-3 result.
The 18-time Grand Slam champion found his rhythm again, stunning Cilic with a 6-1 win in the third, before dominating the fourth as well, finishing the set 6-2, to wrap up the match in nearly three hours.

The Spaniard is looking to clinch his fourth US Open title, and will have to meet Diego Schwartzman of Argentina, who eliminated Alexander Zverevof Germany three sets to one for a place in the last four.
That’s while Gaël Monfils of France advanced to his third US Open quarterfinals, after dismantling Pablo Andújar of Spain in straight sets.
