Premier League: Manchester United 1-2 Crystal Palace

@AFP

Crystal Palace have recorded their first victory at Old Trafford since 1989 after stunning Manchester United 2-1 with an injury-time winner.

A long punt up field by the Palace goalkeeper and a flick on in the 32nd minute found Jordan Ayew in acres of space and he kept his nerves to score the opener for the visitors against the run of play.

United pushed for a breakthrough and had a golden chance to level the terms in the 70th minute but Marcus Rashford smashed his spot kick against the upright after Scott McTominay was felled in the area.

The hosts did, however, find the equalizer a minute from time when Daniel James brilliantly bent the ball into the top corner, giving the keeper no chance.

With the game in injury time, United had surely salvaged a share of the spoils. Or so they thought. The hosts watched in horror as a Patrick fan Aanholt strike denied them even that solitary point in the blink of an eye.
