Estonia’s Ott Tanak has taken the lead at the Rally of Germany, after winning two of Friday’s three speed tests.

Toyota's Tanak, who is chasing a German treble, demoted Thierry Neuville from the top spot with stage wins, where the Belgian finished in second to fall 3.2 seconds behind the Estonian.

Reigning champion Sebastien Ogier was 13.7 seconds off the pace in third.

Tanak currently holds a 22-point lead over Ogier at the top of the championship standings with five rounds still to go in the season.

Thierry Neuville is a further three points off the pace in third.
