Muslims barred from holding Friday prayers in Kashmir

Authorities in Indian-controlled Kashmir have prevented people from entering mosques for Friday prayers. Residents in Srinagar said the city’s mosque was shut on Friday morning with armed vehicles outside. India has imposed a curfew and communication blackout on Kashmir for the past 12 days, after having stripped the disputed region of its autonomy.
