Algeria defeat Senegal to win 2019 AFCON title
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations has ended as Algeria beat Senegal 1-0 in the final showdown at the Cairo International Stadium.
Algeria got off to a brilliant start as Baghdad Bounedjah scored the only goal in style, when his 2nd minute strike took a deflection off Salif Sane, as it looped over the keeper and nested into the back of the net. The Desert Foxes held on to their advantage until the last minute to lift the trophy for the 1st time since 1990, when they were crowned champions on home soil.
