Roger Federer has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships after defeating Frenchman Lucas Pouille three sets to love.
The 37-year old did not play his usual best but managed to finish the opener 7-5. The 20-time Grand Slam champion re-composed and easily won the second at 6-2.

In the third set, Pouiee showed some resilience, but the Swiss maestro used his experience and took it at 7-6 to wrap up the match in two hours.
With the victory, the eight-time Wimbledon champion became the first player in history to earn 350 Grand Slam singles wins.
Federer will meet young Italian Matteo Berrettini in the quarterfinals.
