Copa America: Peru beat Chile 3-0 to reach final

Peru have stunned 2-time Copa America defending champions Chile, with a 3-0 victory in the 2019 Copa America semifinals.

On Wednesday night at the Arena do Gremio in Porto Alegre, Peru got on the scoresheet when Edison Flores poked the ball into the back of the net in the 21st minute.

Yoshimar Yotun doubled the lead for Peru before the break, with a strike into the open goal from the edge of the box, after the Chilean keeper left the area to try to stop a counterattack.

Paolo Guerrero sealed the victory for Peru after netting from close range in stoppage time, and also became Copa America’s all-time leading scorer among active players with 13 goals.

With the victory, Peru set up a rematch with hosts Brazil in the event, but this time, in the final on Sunday at the Maracana Stadium.
